WhereToWonder

Terms of service

Effective October 9, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and WhereToWonder ("we", "us") for using the WhereToWonder apps, website and services. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to our privacy policy. WhereToWonder is in early testing, so features may change, break or go away while we improve it.

Who can use it

Your content

You own what you add: trips, photos, videos, reviews, spots and messages. To run the app we need permission to store, process and show it. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, translate, display and distribute your content to provide and improve WhereToWonder, for example showing a public review to other travellers or a shared trip to your friends. For private content (memories, unsaved trips, Comfort & Safety answers) the license only covers showing it to you and the people you choose. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have already saved, shared trips you were part of, and backups that expire within 30 days.

Only share content you have the right to share, and only share photos of other people with their permission.

Community guidelines

WhereToWonder is a kind, curious, family-friendly place about real places. When you share publicly:

Shared content is checked automatically, partly with AI, before it appears publicly. We may decline, remove or limit the reach of content that breaks these rules, and accounts that repeatedly break them may have their posts hidden, be suspended or be closed. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@wheretowonder.com.

To report content or a person, email us with a link or the username. To report a copyright issue, send the work, where it appears, and your contact details to the same address.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service. That includes trying to access other people's accounts or data, getting around limits or security, scraping, overloading our systems, reverse engineering the service except where the law allows it, or using WhereToWonder to break the law or hurt anyone.

Travel information, AI and safety

Other services

WhereToWonder links to and shows content from other services, such as Wikipedia (CC BY-SA), Wikimedia Commons, video sites and maps. Those services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.

Paid features

WhereToWonder is free. If we offer paid features (such as WhereToWonder Plus), they are bought and billed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, including how to cancel and request refunds. We'll show the price and what's included before you buy.

Ending your account

You can stop using WhereToWonder and delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, and we may change or stop the service. If we shut WhereToWonder down, we'll give reasonable notice where we can so you can save your trips.

Disclaimers

WhereToWonder is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that information in it is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, WhereToWonder and the people behind it aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or travel plans, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as WhereToWonder grows. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where WhereToWonder is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the place you live requires otherwise.
